AGATE mortars SET

Agate mortars and Handheld are the ideal tools for grinding a matrix of a solid sample powder in preparation for making a transparent pellet free from spurious absorption peaks. Pure agate is non-absorbing in an infrared spectrophotometer.

  • Octagonal mortar is made of naturally hard agate stone;
  • Hardness: 7.0-7.2; Pressure-resistance, Heat-resistance, chemical-resistant; Features highly polished grinding surface for optimal results;
  • A silicone mat is recommended to place under the mortar for the best grinding practice;
